The company was changed from its legal form in 1999 to a public limited company in accordance with German law. HumanOptics AG is known today as an innovation leader in eye surgery and has set as its major principle the development of "optics made by humans for humans". With its brand names of HumanOptics and Dr. Schmidt Intraocularlinsen the group is so to speak a synonym for innovation strength in research and know-how in manufacturing.

The HumanOptics Group develops and manufactures intraocular lenses from silicone, acrylic and PMMA materials. A broad range of PMMA lenses is permanently available. Also in the case of special lenses, such as, for example, toric solutions, a large range of dioptres is available on stock.
